Our Mission
The Catholic Women’s League of Canada is a national organization rooted in gospel values calling its members to holiness through service to the people of God.
League History
The Catholic Women’s League of Canada was organized nationally on June 17, 1920 and granted federal incorporation on December 12, 1923.
The League is officially recognized by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) as a lay association of women and is affiliated with the World Union of Catholic Women’s Organizations (WUCWO), a world-wide federation holding membership in the conference of International Catholic Organizations (ICO) and having consultative status with agencies of the United Nations.
2020/21 Executive
The CWL is the largest national organization of
Catholic Women in Canada.
Any female over the age of 16 is welcome to join.
Guests are ALWAYS welcome to our meetings held the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7:00PM (in the church basement).
Members receive a copy of The Canadian League magazine
When you join the CWL, you do not have to attend every meeting, nor will you be expected to ‘sign up’ for duties, unless you want to.
By just being a member, YOU will be adding your voice to the already 100,000 strong voices now speaking out on national, provincial and municipal issues such as gender selective abortion, child pornography, child poverty, anti-bullying, human trafficking, and many more.
MaterCare International (MCI)
is a group of Catholic
obstetricians and gynecologists . The organizations mission is to carry out the work of improving the lives and health of mothers and babies both born and unborn. Funding is desperately needed to keep a hospital running in the district of Isiolo, Kenya. Maternal deaths in Isiolo is the highest in Africa - 1 in 31 mothers die unnecessarily in childbirth.
